Biography

Da Charmin Prince who’s real names are Oro Dogiye was born in Ekondo Titi, Cameroon on the 14th of July 1992, to a religious Adventist and royal family. He’s from the Balondo tribe, a tribe in Ndian division found in the South West Region of Cameroon and is the 4th born of five (5). He grew up and spent part of his life in towns & cities such as Ekondo Titi, Mundemba, Kumba, Buea, Limbe, Douala & Yaounde in Cameroon before relocating to Thailand.

He’s an all-round yet very creative person who explores his talents in singing, rap, song writing, music video directing, book writing, teaching, creative and conceptual designing and entrepreneurship. The Thailand based Cameroonian RnB/Pop artist has been honing his creativity and artistic talent in music for the past several years.

His love for music began when he was just 13, inspired by artists such as Micheal Learns To Rock, Lil Bow Wow & etc. He got introduced into music making at the age of 17 by Slimbeatz whose still presently his sound engineer and producer through his then group called “Vast Money Crew” which was made up of some of his friends and classmates in secondary school who were hip hop lovers. From then his love for making music has been endless.

Da Charmin Prince’s evolution into the music scene many years ago has allowed him to introduce and explore his other range of talents and creativity even further.

The difficulty of getting a record deal or sponsorship let him into believing he can do it on his own, with or without them. Thus, this mindset of his gave birth to his slogan “Believe In Yourself”.

Later in 2013, he decided to start his own record label called “Cash Flow Music Group” and signed himself, few months before he relocated to Thailand. His debut music video “My Nyango” which was directed by him, became a viral smash hit upon its release, giving him a household name back home and in the diaspora as it also got retweeted by Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz and some other big African artists then at the time.

He prefers to be labelled a versatile artist because of the wide range of different genres and taste which his music style has. Things most peculiar about his music is that, it conveys messages of life’s struggle, lifestyle and most particularly, love.

Some of his biggest influences in the music scene since his introduction into music are; Micheal Jackson (R.I.P), Wizkid, Nelly, Sean Kingston, 50 Cent, Juice WRLD (R.I.P), Akon, Migos, Sean Paul, Chris Brown, Shaggy & etc.

On 14th July, 2020 he debuted his first EP titled “Born Blessed” which comprises of seven (7) songs plus a bonus song making it eight (8) songs on the EP.

He also plans on releasing an LP album titled “Born Blessed LP album” sometime in 2021 a follow up album to his “Born Blessed EP”.
